5 Ways to Earn More Money for Bloggers

1. Display Visitor Stats

If your site has a good amount of visitors you should highlight those stats prominently. Feedburner’s plug-in is one way to do that (Checkout DailyBlogTips.com for an example.. right column). Feedburner allows you to display how many blog subscribers your site has. You will need to sign up with their service to get those stats, but it may be worth it if your site has a lot of subscribers. When I buy reviews from a site that is the first thing I look for. I look for an indication that the site actually has readers.

There are other services out there that will help you show off your site stats. Alexa has a widget and so does Yahoo. Alexa will show your traffic rank while the Yahoo Badge will show your incoming links.

2. Use Your own Domain Name

While there are some great blogs hosted on Blogger and Wordpress, it makes a poor first impression when your blog URL is something.blogger.com or something.wordpress.com. Most advertisers think twice about purchasing reviews on hosted platforms. If your in it for the long run, it is best to purchase your own domain. It will cost you depending on the platform you are on, but in addition to helping you earn more money on reviews, it will help build your readership over time.

3. Do Not Diminish your blogs Value by Writing too Many Paid Posts

The #1 reason why we reject blogs is that they are saturated with Paid Posts. We reject 9 out of 10 blogs and at least 3-4 out of those 9 are rejected because they are nothing more then a site filled with paid posts. For those that do get in, it is important that you maintain a 3:1 ratio of non-paid to paid content on your site. While some bloggers disagree with this policy, we strive to maintain of network of “real” blogs. Our advertisers demand it. The biggest complaint we hear about our competitors is the number of low quality blogs in their network.

Advertisers are willing to pay more for sites that have real content! and for a good reason. Sites with great content have readers and incoming links.

4. Write Great Reviews

One of the best things you can do to earn more money writing reviews is to focus on quality. Advertisers are paying for you to review their site and give them quality constructive feedback. Going the extra mile by doing good research or by adding pictures etc… can make a lasting impression on the advertiser. Many advertisers buy multiple reviews, and they will remember yours.

It is also a good idea to write great reviews because your readership will appreciate the work you put into your posts. You might be surprised how many potential advertisers are reading your blog right now. If they see that you do quality posts, they will want one for themselves.

5. Promote Yourself

If you have an “Advertise” page, you should mention that you will do reviews. Link to your SR profile so that they know where they can make the purchase. You can also link to our blog profile on your sidebar. Your SR profile link can be found in your “Manage Blogs” section. Simply click on the blog to edit and you will find the link in the upper right corner of the page.
